St. Joseph’s Adopts Electronic Health Records System

St. Joseph’s CEO, Bob Ross, accepts a contribution from Alex Alexander of TenEleven Group to support the Center’s scholarship program. TenEleven has joined with St. Joseph’s as both a vendor of electronic healthcare software, and as a corporate sponsor.

St. Joseph’s Addiction Treatment and Recovery Centers is implementing an electronic health records system designed by the TenEleven Group, Inc., a software and services company located in Buffalo. The establishment of the system will improve St. Joseph’s clinical and fiscal capability by integrating patient records and direct electronic billing for services to multiple payers. TenEleven Group’s state-of-the-art electronic health records technology will create and maintain patient records that are customized to specific St. Joseph’s clinical practices and standards for more timely and accurate billing. The use of TenEleven’s software will improve the efficiency of treatment staff and provide more time to spend on patient care, and improve St. Joseph’s bottom line.

The national conversion from paper health care records to digital files is a leading objective of the Obama Administration.

" This (computerization of records) will cut waste, eliminate red tape and reduce the need to repeat expensive medical tests,” the President said shortly after his election. "But it won’t just save billions of dollars and thousands of jobs; it will save lives by reducing the deadly but preventable medical errors that pervade our health-care system," he added.

According to CNN, only about 8% of the nation's 5,000 hospitals and 17% of its 800,000 physicians currently use the kind of computerized record-keeping systems that Obama envisions for the whole nation and that St. Joseph’s is establishing now.

“We ‘re very pleased that St. Joseph’s has selected TenEleven for their electronic healthcare records needs and we look forward to working with them to help improve their business and clinical practices.” said Dick Engl, Vice President of sales and marketing for TenEleven Group. “TenEleven’s electronic Clinical Record suite was designed to help healthcare organizations maintain a technology leadership and to meet the constantly changing compliance and regulatory needs.”

St. Joseph’s Addiction Treatment and Recovery Centers provides inpatient and outpatient treatment for men and women who suffer from the disease of alcohol and drug addiction. St. Joseph’s operates a 58-bed inpatient facility in Saranac Lake, and outpatient clinics in Malone, Saranac Lake, Lake Placid, Ticonderoga, and Elizabethtown, and maintains residential recovery centers in Schenectady and Poughkeepsie. St. Joseph’s employs 140 counselors and support staff, and generates a $7,000,000 annual budget.

TenEleven Group is a leading provider of software and services focused on the behavioral healthcare market. In TenEleven’s electronic Clinical Record suite (eCR), the compliance and business rules are entered into a fully customizable rules-based engine which ensures both regulatory and business process conformance.

TenEleven Group has developed a package that will best implement the required range of client data to integrate into St. Joseph’s overall technology strategy,” says Brent Hesseltine, St. Joseph’s Director of Information Technology. They have proven to be creative, flexible, and committed to our success.

To further strengthen the relationships between the two companies, TenEleven Group has joined with St. Joseph’s as a corporate sponsor by providing a financial contribution to the Center’s scholarship program.

“ St. Joseph’s is excited about working with TenEleven Group as a partner in pursuit of dramatically advancing our best practices in the area of effectiveness of managing patient records, and fiscal efficiency in maximizing revenues,” says St. Joseph’s CEO, Bob Ross. “We want St. Joseph’s to be a leader in terms of the quality of our business practices as well as in terms of the services we provide to addicted individuals and their families.”
