Human Resources Director Presents at Annual Conference
St.
Joseph’s Human Resources Director Katie Kirkpatrick joined with New York State Office of Alcoholism and Substance
Abuse Services Executive Deputy Commissioner Kathleen Caggiano-Siino in presenting “Maximizing Employee Engagement
on a Shoe-String Budget” at the 10th annual Alcohol & Substance Abuse Providers of New York State conference held
this past week in Niagara Falls. The conference attracted approximately 700 attendees for the four-day gathering.
Kirkpatrick’s presentation included topics such as utilizing the best practices for promoting employee health,
productivity, and job satisfaction. These broad subjects incorporate such areas as employee wellness, flexible
scheduling, job sharing, and benefits.
"I feel it’s very encouraging that the Commissioner, under Governor Spitzer, is taking such an active role in
employee retention issues,” says Kirkpatrick. “Keeping talented people can be a challenge, especially here in the North Country.”
Kirkpatrick has served at St. Joseph’s since 1997 having come from 15 years in the corporate banking field.
“I was drawn to St. Joe’s mission,” she says. “The Center provides a very real opportunity to help society.” |
